Technical Resources for Converting Engineers
Answer-first guides on adhesion, drying, lamination and color control — written in the order we would diagnose your line, with every claim tied to a substrate and a test you can reproduce.
A library written for the people who run the line
Every article starts with the conclusion, then walks through the checks in the order we would run them. No superlatives — only substrate, process and chemistry that can be verified in a trial.
The library covers the questions that appear most often in technical inquiries: ink adhesion on treated films, choosing between water- and solvent-based gravure inks, evaluating solvent-free lamination bonds, specifying ink for PVC decorative film, and troubleshooting foam and color difference on the press.
If an article does not match your exact substrate, ink or line speed, send the full context — film type and treatment, print unit configuration, dryer length, and the end-use test the printed part must pass. The answer will reference a documented scope rather than a generic product statement.
Five ways into the library
Technical articles
In-depth guides on adhesion, drying physics, lamination bond strength and ink–film interactions, written for application engineers rather than marketers.
Selection guides
Side-by-side comparisons that structure the decision before you spend trial days — for example, water-based versus solvent-based gravure inks.
Troubleshooting
Diagnostic routes for press-side problems — foaming in water-based gravure and color difference in decor paper — each with a check table you can run in order.
Case studies
Line-level application references for decorative film and flexible packaging. Published only after the customer approves the shared scope and data.
Document center
Batch-specific TDS, SDS and COA for inks, coatings, adhesives and resins. Request the current version for the exact grade you are qualifying.
All technical articles
Six answer-first guides, released between May and July 2026. Read the one that matches your symptom, then confirm the scope with an application engineer before you order.
How to improve ink adhesion on PET film
The screening order used by converting engineers: treatment check, contamination check, then binder and primer selection.
Water-based vs solvent-based gravure ink
What actually changes when you convert: drying physics, substrate requirements, energy, speed and residuals.
How to evaluate lamination bond strength
The test conditions, curing windows and failure modes that separate a good adhesive from a bad match.
Specifying ink for PVC decorative film
Define lamination heat, film flexibility and plasticizer content first — the resin family then narrows itself.
Foaming in water-based gravure inks
A system-level check order: formulation foam balance, circulation and pump shear, defoamer choice, then process settings.
Color difference in decor paper printing
The common causes behind shade drift on decor lines and the measurement-based controls that keep it in tolerance.
Document center (TDS / SDS / COA)
Batch-specific documents are issued for the exact ink, coating, adhesive or resin grade you are qualifying. Name the grade and application, and the document center sends the current version with its verification status — normally within 2 business days.
Documents marked “pending” are released after final verification — request the current version through the form and we will send it with the applicable scope.
We document line-level references for decorative film and flexible packaging only after the customer approves the shared scope and data. Until the first case study is released, ask our application engineers for references suitable for your substrate — they will describe the applicable test conditions instead of quoting unpublished results.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions behind most inquiries to the library.
I have a specific substrate and line — which article should I read first?
Start with the guide that matches your symptom: wet-out or adhesion problems on film — the PET adhesion guide; choosing an ink family for gravure — the water-based versus solvent-based comparison; weak or inconsistent peel in lamination — the bond-strength guide; foam or color difference on the press — the troubleshooting articles. If your substrate is PVC decorative film, review the buyer specification guide before ordering. When in doubt, send the substrate details and an application engineer will point you to the right starting point within 2 business days.
Can I download TDS or SDS documents directly from this page?
Not yet. Documents are released on request so that you receive the version matching the exact grade, batch scope and applicable regulation. Use the technical recommendation form, name the grade you are qualifying, and the document center will reply with the current file and its verification status.
Do you run trials before recommending an ink or adhesive?
Yes — recommendations are based on application testing whenever the substrate and conditions allow. Typical practice is to evaluate drawdowns or printed samples on your film or paper, run the relevant adhesion, heat and aging checks, and only then propose the system. Trials that require your line conditions are scoped in writing before they start.
Not sure which reading path fits your line?
Describe the substrate, the process step that fails, and the end-use test it must pass. We reply within 2 business days with the applicable scope — never with an unverified claim.
